Dorothy Lee Ortiz, 60, of Jacksonville, passed away on May 14, 2016. Born to Sarah and Albert H. Griffin Jr., of Enfield, Connecticut, she grew up and attended Enrico Fermi High School. As a young adult, she pursued her desire to become a licensed Hair Stylist before later moving to Florida where she spent the last 30 years. She spent the past 20+ years as a Senior Care Claims Representative for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida.
She was a loving mother to 3 children, she is survived by Pernell Allgeier, Orlando Allgeier and Dorie Ortiz all of Jacksonville, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and a brother and sister-in-law, Zed and Cindy Griffin of West Springfield, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind an Aunt, Marcia Printz of West Springfield, and countless cousins, nieces and nephews. Her laughter and generosity as well as her kind, loving and gentle soul will be sorely missed and remain forever in our hearts. She is now with her Lord and savior whom she faithfully loved and served.
Funeral arrangements will be held 11am Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Hardage-Giddens Blanding Chapel, 5753 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32244.
