Dorothy C. Cascone

Dorothy Cunningham Cascone, age 96, passed away on January 22, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. Dorothy was a Jacksonville native born on June 28, 1921. Dot was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church from its founding, a member of St. Joseph's Circle, and a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters. She volunteered at St. Vincent's Medical Center for over forty years and was a Lady Commander with Star of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Dot married on June 1, 1941 and is survived by Michael Cascone, Sr. They had 76 and half years of a wonderful life together. They have five children Marie C. Wilkinson (Larry), Michael Jr. (Elizabeth), Michele H. Cugno (Joe), Sharon C. Ray (Eddy) and John Joseph (Jennifer); sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from one o'clock until three o'clock in the afternoon at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 1773 Blanding Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32210. A vigil and rosary will be held beginning at two o’ clock on Sunday. Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11 o'clock in the morning at the church. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, St. Matthew's Catholic Church, or St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation.
