Doris was a vibrant and engaging storyteller, delighting her children with countless tales of her life and experiences. She was a loving mother to her five children and a good friend to many, known for her warmth, humor, and kindness. Her hobbies included sewing and cooking, and she had an entrepreneurial spirit, selling beauty products to support her family and express her independence.
Doris was a devout member of Jehovah’s Witness faith from age 16, never wavering in her faith.
Doris is survived by four of her five children, Carol, John, Eunice and Ruth, five grandchildren, Erin, Lee, Jonathan, Jordan, Zachary, and two great-grandchildren, Langston and Malachi of the United States, niece Patsy Adolphus of Barbados who will carry on her legacy of love, faith, and strength. Daughter, Betty, deceased.
The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at Aspire Jacksonville Rehab Center for their many years of care and Vitas for their compassionate support during her final years. They would also like to extend special thanks to the friends at the Baymeadows and Bedford Congregations for their love, support, and fellowship to Doris. The family is especially grateful to the congregations for their prayers and support during this time.
