Donna Lee Jeffers, 87, passed away on Wednesday December 5, 2018, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Seattle, Washington to parents Raymond and Aleta Hansen, Donna eventually moved to Jacksonville, where she settled down and raised a family, all of whom she loved dearly.
Throughout her life Donna displayed a deep devotion to caring for others. She spent her adult years working as a nurse, but her nurturing tendencies did not stop there – she would later spend her free time caring for local animals, making sure that they got the care that they needed. When she wasn’t caring for other people, Donna spent her time in her garden, caring for everything that grew there.
Donna was preceded in death by both of her parents, and her husband John Edmond Jeffers.
She is survived by sons; Nick Jacobs, Rick Jacobs (Sarah), David Jacobs (Rosie), and Al Jacobs Jr., daughter Nancy Thedford (Wes), grandchildren; Racquel Jacobs, Kelly Ray, David Jacobs Jr., and Benny Ray Jr., step grandchildren; Brian Dowell of Kansas City, Kansas and Stephanie Dowell of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and three Great Grandchildren; Carter Jacobs, Savannah Jacobs, and Lincoln Jacobs, all of Virginia Beach.
Services in honor of Donna will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018, beginning with a visitation for friends and family at 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM. Services held at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
