Donna Faye Davis passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2023. She came into this world on December 13, 1934 in Knoxville, Tennessee and was christened Donna Faye Love and she did love life. She spent her childhood and early years in Knoxville where she met and married her love Robert Hayes Davis. The young family which now included their first born Deborah Ann moved to Baltimore for a brief period before finding their forever home in Jacksonville, Florida in the mid-sixties. In Jacksonville, their son, John Lloyd Davis completed the family.
Donna was always a working wife and mother. Her personality and loyalty made her an ideal employee and friend. She took pride in her work and was a valuable asset. She was the ultimate "people person" . As a 25 year employee at Krystal, she joyfully served legions of customers. From there she went to Publix for 6 years in the bakery serving up sweet treats with her sweet smile.
Sadly, her husband Robert passed away in 2008.
Donna never had a great deal of leisure time between raising a family and working. She did enjoy gardening and getting down to the beach was a favorite activity. She was a great cook and was known for her chili, her ambrosia, and her special banana pudding.
After a lifetime of serving others, her health began to deteriorate over the past five years. She ultimately reached a point that necessitated professional care. The family wishes to thank the staff and recognize her fellow patients at Macclenny Nursing and Rehabilitation Center whose care and friendship were so important to comfort her.
In addition to Deborah and John, she leaves to mourn her brother, L.C.; sisters Judy and Imogene; granddaughter, Meredith; grandson, Joel; and great-grandson, Jake.
The family will have a private service to honor Donna.
