Donna was born on November 23, 1949 in Jacksonville, Florida as the second of three daughters to Joseph and Evelyn Lyde. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Jimmy, in 1966 and they started their family at an early age. Then, after working for multiple companies as a dispatcher for truck drivers (demonstrating her natural ability to “put her foot down” when needed), Donna found her true calling in helping people experience life through her favorite past-time as a travel agent. Donna spent her free-time traveling with her husband of 55 years to their favorite places such as Edisto Island, Myrtle Beach, Chicago, Sedona, Williamsburg, Gatlinburg, and Niagara Falls or staying close to home and relaxing with family. Donna was a force of nature—she loved deeply and showed her love to her friends and family in individualized special ways. There was not a baby born to or near this family that did not love to be held by her—she lived for her babies.
Donna was known by many names during her life such as Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She left this Earth ahead of her husband, Jim Booth, her two sons, Jim Booth Jr (Betsy Booth) and Kenny Booth (Maribelle Booth), her four grandchildren, Jamie Booth (David Beauchamp), A.J. Booth, Kayla Booth, and Morgan Booth. She is also survived by her sister, Karen Herndon, and sister-in-laws, Candy Jackson (Jim Jackson), and Sherry Sherrill (Bob Sherrill) and many other loving relatives who made up the entirety of her world. Donna was predeceased by her baby sister, Nancy Butler.
