He was born in Jacksonville, FL on December 19, 1964. Donald graduated from Ed White High School.
During his first Army enlistment he was a member of the 82nd Air Borne as a Parachutist. He then joined Operation Iraqi Freedom 2 tours with many medals, awards, and commendations; retiring from the US Army as a mechanic/driver.
He is survived by children; Samuel Lee Martin and Robert Manly Martin, sisters; Ruthanna Billett (Billy) Lauralyn Popp (John), nephews and niece Michael, Elizabeth, Carter and Jackson. Preceded in death by sister Kimberlee Martin Jones, mother Selma Louise Platt Martin, father Donald Manly Martin Sr.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Hardage Giddens Riverside Funeral Home with viewing on September 23rd from 5-7 pm and service September 24th at 9 am in the chapel following 10:30 am burial at Jax National Cemetery 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
