Donald H. Hunnicutt, Sr. 83 of Jacksonville, Florida passed away May 10, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Born January 28, 1927 in Jacksonville the son of the late James Hinton Hunnicutt and Mamie Lee Mullis Hunnicutt. Donald served in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired as a Supervisor with the Navy Fuel Depot in Mayport. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth James Hunnicutt.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Rita Hunnicutt; sons, Donald H. Hunnicutt Jr. (Carmen), Robert Brad Hunnicutt , (Debbi) and Michael Burns , (Cathie); daughters, Donna Cheryl Sutton (Jim), and Kathleen Flowers (Wayne); 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and many other loving family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 14, 2010 at Chapel Hills Funeral Home. Private interment services will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
