

Donald Norman Heskett, 78, of Jacksonville, FL, returned to his heavenly home on December 20, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him throughout his life.
Don was born to the late Theodore and Grace Moxley Heskett of Leesburg, Virginia, on August 11, 1942. He graduated from Loudon County High School in 1960. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in South Korea, where he met his wife Kay (OK Sol Hong). They were married for 53 years. After the Army, he worked for TWA as a Ramp Servicemen for 35 years. He and his wife retired and relocated to Jacksonville in 1996.
Don was a quiet man with a kind soul. He would help anyone in need and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his favorite football teams, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Washington Football Team and the Virginia Tech Hokies. He loved spending time with his family and was an active member of Ft. Caroline Baptist Church.
Don was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his loving wife, Kay Heskett of Jacksonville, FL; children (spouses) Valerie Shah (Saurin) of Jacksonville, FL, Brian Heskett (Gina) of Stephens City, VA and Patricia Smith (Jahmal) of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Jonah Lampkin, Dilan Heskett, Roman Lampkin, Lauren Heskett and Noah Shah; great-granddaughter Kinsley Grace Lampkin; his siblings Margaret Creel of McLean, VA, Helen Hammond of Richmond, ME, and brother Theodore Heskett, Jr of Leesburg, VA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Don is preceded in death by his sister, Florence Welch of Winchester, VA.
Don will be buried at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens with military honors on December 29th, 2020. Pastor Ricky Powell will officiate the service. Memorial contributions in Don’s name can be made to Fort Caroline Baptist Church, 11428 McCormick Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
