Donald Wray Overcast, Sr., 80, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Born October 28, 1936 in Richmond, Virginia to Helen and Francis Overcast, he grew up in Richmond with his mother, Helen, and step-father, Edward Gormus. Upon leaving high school he entered the U.S. Air Force where he served as a firefighter in Thule, Greenland. Don had unlimited talents and weaved these into his many different jobs. He was a true Jack-of-all-trades with many unique hobbies and abilities. Throughout his life, Don was a loving husband and father, the “best” grandfather and a wonderful friend and neighbor. Don will be remembered by all for his generosity, positive attitude and his entertaining sense of humor. Don is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Donald Overcast, Jr.; daughter, Sherrie Overcast Thomas; son-in-law, Lindsay Thomas; step-daughter, Lisa Webster; grand-daughters Chandler and Jordan Thomas; Kris and Tom Kreseski. He is also survived by many beloved friends.
