Dennis was a caring and thoughtful person who enjoyed his family and many friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. We were all blessed to have had him in our lives and he will be missed by all.
Dennis retired from Winn-Dixie after 32 years of service and remained active in a variety of things. He was a member of the Morocco Shrine Temple, Blue Lodge No. 343. He served as president of the West Jacksonville Shrine in 1999. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. NASCAR was a passion and he attended many Daytona races. Dennis was known for his unique barbequing style and enjoyed sharing his talent with fellow Shriners and many other friends and acquaintances. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orange Park.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce and their son Michael Veal and daughter-in-law Stacey. Dennis had one granddaughter, Reagan, the light of his life. Dennis is also survived by his sister, Charlene Kingsnorth-Heller (Steven), brothers, Leslie Veal (Margie) and Buddy Veal (Sheila) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dennis’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Orange Park, 1140 Kinsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL at 11AM on Friday, December 4, 2015. Grave side service will be 2:30PM at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 6PM-8PM at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd.
