Dennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. On January 30, 2021 he left this world suddenly, but peacefully, in his home to be with the Lord at the young age of 72. Dennis was born on September 6, 1948 in Rockingham County, Virginia.
Dennis earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from Nova University in 1987 and a Master of Business Administration from Nova University in 1988. Dennis achieved his dream of honorably serving his country for 21 years by joining the U.S. Marine Corps and later retiring from the U.S. Army as a deputy finance officer. He was stationed in Japan, Europe, Central America and at various locations throughout the U.S.
Dennis’ pride was in his love of the Lord and in his family. Dennis was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. Over the years, he served as both a deacon and an elder. Dennis had a passion for traveling around the world, bowling in competitions and leagues, and going to the beach. He was also an active member at the Serenata Beach Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. He had a love for life, a quick smile, and a word of encouragement for everyone.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Andrea after almost 50 years of marriage. Dennis was a devoted father to two children: Krista Strom (Rich) and Dennis Lucas II and he was a proud “Papa” to Richard and Johnathan Strom. He spent his evenings with his family watching his favorite tv shows. He enjoyed leading family bible study time and singing praises to the Lord!
Dennis is predeceased by his brother Michael Lucas. His surviving siblings are Wendell Lucas (Pat), Angela Leger (Joe), and Gloria Sprouse (Hughie).
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Youth Impact Center, PO Box 587, Lakeland, GA 31635.
