1958-2022
Born on May 24th, 1958 in Rotherham, Yorkshire, England, David sadly departed this life on August 5th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Son of the late Terence Parkinson, he leaves behind his beloved wife, Jayne Parkinson, mother Margaret Stewart, daughter Sophie Langdon (Nick), grandsons Grant and Logan, and siblings Andrea Douglas and Julie Farrell.
David attended Oakwood secondary school, Rotherham, after which he completed an electrical engineering apprenticeship. He worked at British Steel in Sheffield before emigrating to Jacksonville, Florida in 1985.
After a term of employment at Regency Electric in Jacksonville, and subsequent employment at Kings Bay submarine base, David built a 25 year successful career at Vistakon, retiring as Johnson & Johnson’s worldwide Director of Facilities in 2011.
David had many friends and interests. He loved his fishing trips, golf outings, and football, especially the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was passionate about his cars and his Indian culinary skills. During the last few years, he particularly enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughter, grandsons and his dog, Molly.
A memorial service and reception to follow will be held on Friday, August 19th, 1 pm ET at St. John’s Cathedral, 256 East Church Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202.
