He was born on November 28th, 1942, in Charleston, SC. to Richard L. Sr. and Vergie O. Martin.
David started a lawn business at 15 and ran a successful fishing tackle business all over the Southeastern United States for over 50 years. He was a born salesman and enjoyed barter and trade.
David is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Nancy Martin and a brother Arthur Joel Martin.
David is survived by his older brother Richard L. Martin, Jr. of Asheville, NC, a daughter Ruby Osteen Wood of Melrose, FL., sons David Harold Slim Martin of Foley, AL., Donald Lucky Martin of St. Augustine, FL and Dallas Omega Martin of Foley, AL., his significant other Sandy Goodwin, his grandchildren, and his pal Slick.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at graveside on October 14th, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard Jacksonville, Florida 32207. (904) 396-2522
