DAVID J. DENNEY, 85, passed away peacefully March 21, 2018 at his residence. Born in Drakes, Ohio to the late Claude Eugene and Mildred Kehl Denney, he was predeceased by brother Claude Eugene Denney. Dave graduated in 1950 from North High School, Columbus, Ohio. He worked for Ohio Bell where he was the youngest cable splicer at age 18 ½ while continuing his education to graduate from Ohio State University. In 1978 Dave transferred to Bell South Jacksonville, FL where he retired with 41 years service. He loved golfing and volunteering at Hidden Hills Golf Club but his passion was flying. He was a pilot instructor at JAXEX Airport, a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a blood donor, hospital volunteer, member of Arlington Lions Club and sang with Singers by the Sea. Dave is survived by his wife Jean, brother Leonard Denney (Deanne), daughter Eva Kiefer (Bob), son Gerald Denney (Amparo), stepdaughter Kathy Hunt (Ken), stepson Patrick Phelps (Cari), 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was forever grateful to friends for their loving care and loyalty. A memorial service will be 1:30pm April 7th at Grace Lutheran Church, 12200 McCormick Rd., Jacksonville FL.
