David L. Childs, age 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday August 2, 2012 in Orange Park, FL. David was born January 15, 1932 in Macon, Georgia to Thomas Orlan and Cora (Asbell) Childs. David was a 20 year retired veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Island View Baptist Church in Orange Park and the Moose Lodge # 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son David L. Childs Jr. Survivors include his loving wife, Marcia Childs; one daughter Regina Rogers (Greg); two grandchildren Christy She (Xiao) and Shawn Rogers (Sarah); four grandchildren Colby, Aimee, Ansleigh, and Audrey. Family will receive family and friends from 10:00- 11:00 am, Monday, August 6, 2012 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am in the chapel with Pastor Kevin Collison officiating. Interment will follow services in Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
