Darvie was a proud WWII veteran, and honorably served in the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Eloise Williamson, on February 4, 1946, and they were married 75 years. During his spare time, Darvie enjoyed golf and fishing, and had a love for country music. Above all, family meant everything to Darvie.
Darvie was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Williamson; parents Ashton and Ethel Williamson; three sisters; and two brothers. He is survived by his children Linda J. McElroy, Dale F. Williamson, Connie Haddock, and Shirley Lingris; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Darvie will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A graveside service will occur Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
