Darryl was born on Fairchild Air Force Base on June 26, 1984 to Susan Elaine Brank and Wendell Todd Powell.
Darryl began attending Harvest Baptist Church’s children’s church where he learned about Christ, accepted Him as Savior, and was baptized on the same day with his Father.
Darryl ascended to Terry Parker High School where he excelled in school,acquired friends including teachers, principals, coaches and students and played baseball for the Braves. Darryl graduated with Honors in 2002.
Darryl attended the University of North Florida briefly after graduation, but eventually earned his Associate of Arts Degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville.
Darryl found work in several segments. Recently Darryl began a promising position as Compliance Officer for Beaver Street Foods.
Darryl loved baseball. His passion for the game included playing, coaching, umpiring, as well as following little league, high school and professional teams in person and on television.
Darryl loved to supply the simple joys of laughs, smiles, singing, dancing and cheesy jokes. He loved to play and could be counted on to light up the room with his smile and party hard personality.
Darryl became a father to Alyssa Powell in 2016. He loved her deeply and was concerned about providing the best for her. She is his legacy.
Darryl leaves his parents Susan Elaine Brank Powell and Wendell Todd Powell, his daughter Alyssa Marie, his maternal grandmother Wanda Robertson Brank Green, his paternal uncles Willie Powell (Diane), Clarence Powell, Joseph Powell, his paternal aunts Cheryl Wilder (Tony), Cynthia Terry (Rick), Delores Wynn (Patrick). He maternal uncles Levin Brank (Evonne), John Brank (Felicia), Walter Green (Amber), Charles Green (Joleen), maternal aunts Georganne Scott (Paul), Esther Green, Stephanie Norman (Milton), 25 first cousins, great aunts and uncles, extended family and innumerable friends.

A celebration of life for Darryl will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Terry Parker Baptist Church, 7024 Merrill Road, Jacksonville, FL 32277. A cremation will occur.
