JR, was born on September 18, 1944, to Margaret Carter Purvis and Damon D. Purvis, Sr. in Jacksonville FL. He is survived by his daughters Lisa (Inman) Floyd, Michelle (David) Orr and Sherry (Tommy) Forrest, brothers Bryan L. Purvis, Robert (Deborah) Purvis, Steven Purvis, and sisters Patricia (Jim) Pallone and Susan (Alan) Dyes, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
JR served in the US Navy on the USS Sacramento off the coast of Vietnam. Returning, he went to work with his Mother’s and Bryan’s company, B & M Moving & Storage Co., as a truck driver traveling the U.S. Later as a warehouse manager for Reads Moving Systems of Florida, Inc. until retirement. He loved fishing and hunting. JR always gave help to his family and people in need at work if needed.
JR will always hold a special place in our hearts and be missed.
