May 2, 1922-Sept 7, 2019
Mom (Mimi) went home to Heaven on Sept 7, 2019 surrounded with the love from all that knew her. She was born in Douglas, Georgia on May 2, 1922 to parents Randal C. & Frances A. Worth, now deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband Louis Fendt in 2012, granddaughter Kimberly in 2018, brother Buddy in 2004 and sister-in-law Kitty in 2012.
Mom began working for the US Government at an early age; first at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA; then moved to Jacksonville, Fl and worked at Corp of Engineers, heading up the Payroll Department. She and Louis were then transferred to the Pentagon in Washington D.C. She retired in 1966 and came back to Florida.
She is survived by her only child Patsy and husband Jim, who she loved like a son, granddaughter Tracie, husband Andrew, grandson Michael and wife Salma, great grandchildren: Stephan, Justin, Derek, Jesse, Samantha, Gabriel and Reagan, great great grandchildren Matteus, Leticia, Knox and Carter and special niece and nephews Mary, Randy & Ricky. There are Five generations in our family and Three generations of grands and greats that call her "Mimi".
Our family appreciates the very special care Mom received from Community Hospice, most especially from Chaplain David Holiday and Nurse Seneth.
Mom was able to spend her last 3 years of life in her own home thanks in part to her WONDERFUL caregivers!: Mamie Clayton and Danielle Hernandez. They took care of her and loved her like their own family. Mamie prayed with her, ministered to her and sang and played Gospel music to her. Dani cooked for her, shared books with her and watched birds outside the window and told mom what they were. Her husband Eric came over many times to bring her food or just sing to her. She loved them all and our family was blessed to have them in our lives. - WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL-
A celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am Wednesday September 25, 2019 in the chapel at Community Hospice Earl B. Hadlow Center, 4266 Sunbeam Road, 32257. Dr. Ronnie McKenzie officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care.
