Craig Anderson

Craig was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 23, 1949, and had three sisters, Candy Nelson, Cindy Wallace Goble, and Melissa Nelson. Craig graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in Roseville, MN, class of 1967. Craig attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and went on to have a successful career in electronics and small machine repairs for 25 years at Simplex Grinnell-Tyco.

Craig and his first wife had two sons, Chad and Kevin. After his divorce, Craig found love again when he met Joanne Burleigh at a single adults Bible study in Roseville, MN. He and Joanne were married on September 8, 1990. Joanne had two sons from a previous marriage, Scott and David, whom Craig loved and accepted as his own children. He and Joanne lived in North St. Paul, MN for 28 years.

Craig was a dedicated Christian and was outspoken about his faith. Following his salvation experience in 1988, Craig was very open in sharing how his relationship with Jesus Christ changed his life and made him a better man. Craig loved being around people, sharing stories about his life and making others laugh. Craig was very generous, giving unselfishly of his time and resources to those around him. He served faithfully over the years in the churches he attended. Craig enjoyed being outdoors as a hunter and firearms enthusiast. After Craig retired, he and Joanne moved to Jacksonville, Florida, in May 2018. Craig greatly enjoyed the contentment and relaxation of retired life.

Craig is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joanne Anderson, and their sons, Chad Anderson, Scott Burleigh (Krystal), Kevin Anderson, David Burleigh (Carmen), grandchildren Shiloh, Lydia, Trinity, Anika, and his sisters, Candy, Cindy, and Melissa.

A celebration of Craig’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 2, at Sunrise Community Church, 298 Aquatic Drive, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233, with Pastor Allen Cagle officiating. A graveside service and reception will follow at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 Saint Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
