Clarence Donald “Don” Turcotte, son of the late Clarence Walter Turcotte and Doris Louise Morin Turcotte was born November 30, 1945 in Watsonville, California. He was a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa and was always proud of his native American heritage.
He was united in holy matrimony to Cheryl Ann Enyart on January 6, 1966. This union was blessed with two daughters
Mr. Turcotte joined the United States Navy on January 1, 1965, where he continued his career traveling the world, ultimately reaching the rank of Command Master Chief Petty Officer. His duty stations are as follows: US Naval Station Sangley Point Philippines, NTC San Diego California, NAVCOMSTA Stockton California, Clark Air Base Philippines, Headquarters European Command Stuttgart Germany, Naval Station Mayport Florida and Naval Air Station Jacksonville Florida. Among his duty stations, he was also assigned to the following ships: USS Halsey, USS Mount McKinley, and USS Saratoga.
He was survived by his wife, Cheryl and their two daughters, Dawn Marie Gray, and Kelly Ann Lloyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Walter Turcotte and Doris Louise Morin Turcotte, his brothers Duane Brien, Gary Turcotte, and sister Rosanna “Dolly” Turcotte DuPuis.
Don had a passion for golf, baseball, his Jacksonville Jaguars and his country. His rescue doxies (Tootsie & Crissy) were always at his side. Most importantly, Don had a deep and genuine love for his family, they were always his priority.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children, Dawn Marie Gray (David) of Jacksonville FL, Kelly Ann Lloyd (Zane) of Jacksonville FL; five grandchildren: Joseph Donald Melton (Rebecca) of Prescott Arizona, Taylor Dawn Lloyd of Jacksonville FL, Timothy Michael Melton (Sarah) stationed in Lemoore California, Ryan Christine Lloyd of Jacksonville FL, and Blake Austin Gray of Jacksonville FL, four great grandchildren; Marley Marie Melton, Marie Elizabeth Melton, Michael Jon Melton, and Timothy James Melton.
A graveside service will occur at 1:30 PM on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
