Christopher Wayne Hinkle, age 48, of Saint Augustine, FL, passed away December 15, 2023. Chris was born on August 7, 1975 in Tokyo, Japan (Tachikawa AB) to John Wayne Hinkle and Donna Kay (Haines) Hinkle. He served in the Air Force (Air Traffic Control) in Afghanistan, and also worked for the FAA in Air Traffic Control. Chris married Christine “CC” Hinkle on September 17, 2016.
Chris was a veteran who loved his country, loved riding motorcycles and being surrounded by friends; friends that were more like brothers and sisters than friends. He was also a Christian, and a man of faith.
Chris is survived by his wife, Christine “CC’ Hinkle; two sons Xander and Brayden; parents John and Donna Hinkle; two brothers Nathan Hinkle (Karen) and Aaron Hinkle (Catherine); grandpa Wayne Hinkle; David Cosson (aka “Pops”/ Bonus dad); one niece; three nephews; and many extended family members and friends. Chris is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Donna Lee Hinkle; maternal grandparents Fern and Samuel Haines; and one uncle, Melvin Haines.
Special thanks to all of Chris and CC’s friends they call family, and our brothers and sisters who have looked over CC through this difficult time.
Chris’ family has requested everyone to please wear the color red on the day of the service to support our troops and veterans in honor and memory of Chris.

A receiving of family and friends for Christopher will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A celebration of life will occur Friday, January 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Westside Baptist Church, 7775 Herlong Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210. Pastor Macky "Stryker" Pittman will serve as officiant of services. Kickstands up for the procession to Jacksonville National Cemetery will occur by 11:30 AM at Westside Baptist Church following the celebration of life service. A committal service will occur Friday, January 12, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
