The Edmonson County native was retired from Naval Avionics Facility in Indianapolis, IN and Inspector for the City of Indianapolis, IN. He proudly served his country in the United States Army having served during WWII and was a member of Meadlawn Christian Church of Indianapolis.
He was a son of the late Nelson and Lou Clark Houchin. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Mack Houchin, Truman Houchin and Rum Houchin and sisters, Mary Houchin and Chlorene Houchin.
Survivors include his wife, Darleen Houchin, daughter, LeeAnn and her husband Dr. Carroll Mann; grandchildren, Patrick and Adam Mann, all of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Jewell Patrick, Dean Madison and Yvonne VanMeter, all of Bowling Green, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
