Charles Hannibal Voss Jr.

Charles Hannibal Voss Jr., 93, of Jacksonville passed away June 10, 2021. He was born in West Palm Beach, FL on September 28, 1927. Charles graduated Florida State University, December 1949 with a Bachelor’s Degree and then served in the Navy. He met Rheta Ivie at church December 10 and they were married on December 31, 1960. Charles retired from Peoples Gas Company. He was a member of Murray Hill United Methodist Church and had a passion for helping others. He was also a member of the Fidelis SS class, United Methodist Men, Young at Heart, church exercise class, delivered Meals on Wheels, drove the church bus and recorded church services and delivered tapes to shut-ins.

Charles is survived by wife Rheta; children Harold Voss and Donna Wells; grandchildren Chris (Melinda) and Kyle (Karrie).

He was preceded in death by brothers Steve, Bill and Henry; granddaughter Valerie; and grandson Adam.

There will be a visitation at Murray Hill United Methodist Church, 4101 College St., Jacksonville, FL 32205 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. with Funeral Service starting at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Reverend Dr. Silas Mmworia.
