Uncle Charles was a welcome face the few times we were fortunate enough to see him.  My mother Carolyn always loved him dearly and wished often for a more close knit family.  God rest his soul and hope to see him in heaven. Love, Teresa

My prayers to the family, Mr Thompson was my fifth grade teacher at John Love where I won the spelling bee and I remember him celebrating as I was his own kid. He was a great man and I'm sure God was pleased ..well done servant!

I began my teaching career at John Love Elementary and had the honor of teaching with a great group of teachers and staff members. Mr. Thompson stood out as one of the best and always had a joke and a kind word for one at the beginning of her career. He and Mr. Sanders made a dynamite team and I know he will be deeply missed by all the lives he has touched. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

We met Chuck & Betty through our son Robert,who married Steve & Lisa Crosby's daughter Katie. Although we were only together a few times we enjoyed each visit. Chuck Thompson was truly a southern gentleman.We are sad for your sorrow. May your memories become all the sweeter. We are sorry that we were in North Carolina at the time of his service. I went to high school with Steve.
 A few years ago, I realized that Steve had a house next to one of mine and we renewed our friendship. That is when I found out that the nice older fellow landlord (investor) that I had spoken to many times was Steve's father-inlaw.
Mr. Thompson was truely a nice person. I have met several of his past students and years later they had the most respect for him.
I am very sorry for your loss.

I didn't know Mr. Thompson, but I do know he raised a wonderful, kind, deeply ethical, generous daughter in Kathy.  My condolences to the family.  May your memories be comforting even as you grieve.

I never had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Thompson, but I do know his son Mark - and I'm a strong believer that we boys learn to become men through the example of our fathers.  Knowing Mark as I do, I'm confident I would have really admired, respected and liked Mr. Thompson, and my heart goes out to his entire family.  I pray that your grief may be lightened by your love for one another, and by the joyful memories involving Charles.

I've known Mr. Thompson since Lisa and I became best friends in college. He loved a good joke and always made me laugh. Although I never had him as a teacher I know he had to be one of the best because he engaged with everyone he met and made you feel special. He loved his family and his friends. I know heaven was glad to see him. I bet he had a joke for St. Peter at the gates! My prayers to his family. I know you miss him so much.

Mr. Thompson was my 5th grade math teacher. He was a very nice man and a great teacher. All these years went by and he had come into the hardware store where i worked and still remained a very nice and polite man.My prayers to his family we all know he will be missed greatly. Rest in peace MR.T :(

Mr. T was a very special person.  He was so funny, so engaging, and so kind hearted.  I don't believe he has ever met a person who did not immediately take to him as if they were old friends.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  My prayers and sincere condolences are with the Thompson Family.

Mr. Thompson was one of the best teachers John Love School ever had.  Vera and I worked with him from day one.  He taught our children and taught them well.  He earned everyone's respect by showing kindness and love.  He will be greatly missed.  Every time we heard of anything regarding our old John Love's family, we would immediately think that we had to tell Mr. Thompson.  He was a dear person and we all loved him.

Chuck, as we called him after his retirement (it was always Mr. Thompson while at school) was one of a kind.  He always knew what to say and when to say it.  I have had many John Love past students  tell me over the years that Mr. Thompson was the best teacher they ever had and our son is one of those students.  No words can express our love for Chuck and his family.  God Bless.

I`m a good friend of Steve and Lisa Crosby and remember Chuck as a wonderful father to Lisa and father-in-law to Steve. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
