Charles Mathieu Evans, 62, a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida passed away August 19, 2018. Charles was born in Jacksonville on September 9, 1955 to David Lamar and Virginia Mary Evans. He attended San Jose Catholic Church and graduated from Bishop Kennedy High School. Charles was a US Air Force veteran, having served from 1974-1977. During his subsequent civilian career, he worked for Mac Papers, Atlantic Marble and Oaklawn Cemetery.
Charles was predeceased by his father and nephew John Evans. He is survived by his mother, siblings Carolyn (Ed) Laing, David (Patti) Evans, Kathleen Evans and Bob (Cheryl) Evans, one niece, 5 nephews and numerous cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am, Friday, August 24, 2018 at San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Rd. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main St. N. The family will receive friends at 9:15am at the church.
