Cecil William Wilson, born February 11, 1950 in Jacksonville, Florida, passed away July 3, 2021 in Cartersville, Georgia with his daughter, Nathalie, at his bedside. He was the son of Maude and Paul Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia.
Cecil served in the Army during the Vietnam War and won many awards such as a Bronze Star Medal and several others. He was a jeweler by trade and worked for many years for Friedman’s and Sterling Jewelers. He was a Christian and loved reading his Bible. Cecil was a man who gave and helped all from his heart. He was a kind, good natured, loving man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Phillip Wilson; and brother-in-law, Tommy Freeland. He is survived by his daughter, Nathalie; son-in-law Federico; three grandchildren whom he loved deeply: Hugh, Henry and his little princess, Stella; sister, Peggy Freeland; and nieces and nephews, Tammy Jimenez, Cheri Naiman, Natasha Farrow, Phil Wilson and Brandon Freeland.
He will be terribly missed by all who knew him. His jokes, laughter, guidance, advice and especially his stories!
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. His graveside service will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
