Cathy Elizabeth Koonce

Cathy Elizabeth (McCall) Koonce, age 68, passed away on September 30, 2023. She was born in Jacksonville, FL on February 24, 1955 to George Milton McCall and Carolyn Elizabeth (Mikell) McCall. Cathy graduated F.C.C.J. Adult High School and married Reginald “Reggie Koonce on August 21, 2012. She worked in the banking industry for many years.

Cathy enjoyed music, especially Blues and Tab Benoit and Delbert McClinton were two of her favorites. She loved painting and sketching and was a gifted artist but she also enjoyed decorating their home with her cherished antiques. She loved working in her yard and even won "Yard of the Month". When not painting or doing yard work, she loved traveling and Cruises.

Cathy’s greatest accomplishment was being a 20 year, inoperative small cell lung, cancer survivor, especially since there is only a 5 to 7 year survival rate for this type of cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Reginald “Reggie” Koonce; daughter, Amber Scott (Casey); sister, Judi Lee (Gary); brother, John C. McCall, Sr. and brother, George McCall.

Preceded in death by her parents George Milton McCall and Carolyn Mikell McCall.
