Carolyn L. Brantley Stallings went home to be with her heavenly father on January 8, 2011, after an in home fall. Carolyn was born to Charles S. and Mary L. White Brantley in Dublin, GA on March 7, 1947. She lived in Jacksonville where she graduated from Paxon High School in 1965. She relocated to Hilliard, FL where she raised her three children, Jason Williams (Penny), Jamie Stallings Cowart (David), and Jennifer Stallings Kirton (Austin). Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, two brothers Harris Brantley and Lewis B. Brantley (Catherine). She is survived by her ten grandchildren, Micheal (21), Megan (17), Nicholas (14), Kaleb (12), Hope “Annie” (14), David “Bubba” (12), Kaitlin (7), Thomas (7), Summer (5), and Diane “Faith” (3), two sisters Christine Brantley Lewis of Dublin, GA and Margaret Brantley Bottoni (Joe) of Hilliard, FL and nineteen nieces and nephews. Carolyn was very active in her home church, Wesley Chapel in Hilliard. Carolyn was active in the West Nassau and Hilliard Communities organizing food drives for needy families. She was often referred to as the Food Basket Lady. Carolyn battled Cerebal Palsy and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, Friday, January 14, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to cancer research.
