Carol "Ginger" French

Carol "Ginger" French was born July 12, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL. Her parents were Jesse and Gayle Strickland.

She was a faithful and devoted wife to Jay French for almost 48 years and a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend.

Ginger French was an inspiration to many. No matter the trials and tribulations in her life, Her faithfulness and devotion to the Lord never waivered. She was the shoulder and hug most would turn to for comfort and her answer to any problem was to hand it all to the Lord.

She had a love for all plants and flowers. One of her favorite past times was being barefoot in flower beds. There was no weed she couldn't bring back to life as she saw the beauty in everything and everyone.

Her passion was to visit Nursing Homes to spend time with people and share God's word. To show each and every person she could that they were not alone and they were loved.

Ginger was the most loving, caring and selfless woman most of us will ever know and although she was small, She was also the mightiest and strongest woman you could meet.

She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Strickland; her children, Jesse French, Sherry Meade and Robert Laster; and Great Grandson, Wyatt Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Jay French; Daughter, Joanne Buckner; Stepchildren, Samantha Crews (Bryant), Cindy French and Steven French; Sisters, Patsy Harden (Billy), Libby Ford (Ronnie), and Linda Smith; Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

A visitation for Ginger will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM in the Chapel with Dr. Herb Reavis as Officiant. Immediately following the service, interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
