Carol Rae Cohen, daughter of Lita and Paul Cramer and sister of the late Nancy Feldgus Neff, passed away on Thursday, August 10th at her home in Sarasota, Florida. She was 83 years-old. She is survived by her four beloved children: Marjie Hadad (Yitzhak), Julie Schwartz (Michael), Lisa Ansbacher (Barry), Daniel Shanken, and beloved niece, Andye Rubello and nephew, David Feldgus. She adored her ten grandchildren (Zoe, Avital, Adam, Etai, Guy Noalee, Maya, Yonatan, Emma and Lily Pop), who loved their Grammy dearly. Carol was a native of Harrisburg and a graduate of William Penn High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Penn State University and a masters in social work at Temple University. She was the director of social work at the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg and worked for many years at United Cerebral Palsy. She was a master bridge player and an incredible mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Carol was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her family and many dear friends.
Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15th at Evergreen (New Center Cemetery) at 200 East 43rd Street, Jacksonville, Florida. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Wylie’ Day Foundation (wyliesday.org) or other charity.
