Carlton was a US Marine veteran of WWII. A member of Iron Workers Union Local 597 for more than 30 years, Carlton proudly helped construct most of the Jacksonville Skyline until his retirement in 1987.
He was a faithful servant of Southside Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), serving Christ in many ways throughout the years.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his humor, his garden and his love of life. Tough to the end, he was the original "Iron Man." We know he's up in Heaven feeding raccoons, flirting with nurses, and tickling some poor kid until she wets her pants.
Funeral service will be held 1:30pm Monday December 14 at Southside Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 6755 Atlantic Blvd. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
As Carlton loved beautiful colors, the family has asked that you wear bright colored clothing.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory be made to Southside Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The family would like to thank all the many caregivers who have supported him and his family over the last several years.
