Carl H. Zart Jr., 88 passed away on Wednesday January 28, 2015. He was born on October 27, 1926 in W. Palm Beach and moved to Jacksonville in 1929. He graduated from Landon High School and attended the University of Florida. He was a charter member of Mandarin Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon and an Elder. He believed in Faith, Family and Friends. Carl served in the Air Force during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He worked at Cain & Bultman for 37 years and retired in October of 1989. He was a lifetime Mason of Duval Lodge #159 F&AM, a member of the North Florida Producers Council, served as President in 1972 and Executive Secretary after retiring. Carl Co-founded and was 1st President of the Northeast Florida Woodcarving Guild in October of 1992. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Bennett and daughter, Sarah Anne Harper (Mike) and is survived by his son, Carl III (Valerie) and grandsons, Bennett and Nicholas. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, February 2, 2015 Mandarin Presbyterian Church, 11844 Mandarin Rd, with Pastor Kevin Pound officiating. Interment will follow at Mandarin Cemetery.
