Carl Edward Lamb Jr.

On Friday, July 19, 2019 Carl E. Lamb, Jr. “Eddie” went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 60. He was born November 24, 1958 in Savannah, Georgia to Carl E. Lamb Sr. and Sarah Anita Jones.

On October 25, 1978, he married his best friend and wife of 40 years, Barbara J. Cooke. They raised two children, Tracie and Trey.

While Eddie had a passion for music and playing guitar, his greatest gift was people. He reached others out a genuine interest to hear their story and really know them. He was a lifter and an encourager. He never met a stranger or a person he couldn’t be a friend to. He knew his calling and had a joy and peace that carried him to the end. His quick wit, infectious smile, and kind spirit will truly be missed.

Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Anita Jones. He is survived by his father, Carl E. Lamb Sr., wife Barbara J. Lamb, daughter Tracie D. Gibbs and husband Josh, son Carl E. Lamb III “Trey”, sister Debra McSwain, five grandchildren Allie J. Rowland, Julia R. Gibbs, Peyton C. Gibbs, Andrew L. Gibbs and Dillon A. Rowland and several cousins, nieces, and a nephew.

A funeral service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial at 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
