Carl (Chopper) Easters Lam, 92, passed away on October 31, 2014. He was born on November 29, 1921 in Jacksonville, Florida and lived here his entire life. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended Jacksonville Junior College and Duke University.
Carl was a member of the 265th Florida National Guard. As a veteran of World War II, he proudly served as a staff sergeant in the United States Army in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska until August 1945.
He worked at the United States Postal Service for 48 years before his retirement in 1984 and was employed at Brinks Armored Car Service for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane Smith Lam, daughters Carla (Jim) Marlier, Lisa (Ed) Dulik, niece Sandra (Doug) Montgomery, grandchilden Chris Fey (Michelle), Jason Fey, Chris (Kellie) Dulik, Jamie (Chris) Pontarelli, Brittany (Mike) Blakey, five great-grandchildren, and one great nephew.
His life was dedicated to his family and friends and he never met anyone he would not help. He was truly an inspiration to all that knew him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207

A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 4th at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
