Brenda Sue Heck

Brenda was born to Modesta and Dorothy Whittaker on February 8, 1949 in Dayton, OH. She graduated from Stivers High School in Dayton, OH and interned at her Aunt Illa’s beauty shop. She got her beautician license after passing the state board in Columbus, OH. She has since held various job positions throughout her lifetime, some of which were Accounting at Ryder Trucking and K-mart on Normandy Blvd., to owning her own beauty shop in a nursing home in the Mandarin area. She also excelled at the most difficult and most important jobs in life by being a supporting wife, loving mother, an amazing homemaker and a compassionate caregiver.

Brenda was married for 53 glorious years to Patrick Heck and has been a long time parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was deeply involved in various groups including the CCW & Sewing Group. She had many hobbies including sewing, knitting, camping, traveling, family time & helping others in need.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother and father Dorothy & Modesta Whittaker; loving husband, Patrick; son, Timothy; sisters Jean and Nella; and brother, Billy. She is survived by her two sons Robert (Paula) of Findlay, OH and Michael (Stacey) of Mason, OH; daughter in-law Andrea Heck of Jacksonville FL; her sister Dianna (Ronnie) Smith of Dayton, OH; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Brenda will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7190 Hwy 17, Fleming Island, FL 32003. A committal will occur Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
