Betty Coover Mick

Betty was born October 22, 1938, in Delaware, Ohio. She graduated from Willis High School in 1955. In 1957 her cousin introduced her to his friend, Chuck Mick. Betty and Chuck married June 2, 1957. They lived in Delaware, OH until 1988 when they moved to Charlotte, NC. Together they shared 57 years together until Chuck’s passing in 2014.

Betty was a devoted Christian and was a very active member of her church, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Delaware, OH and A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church in Charlotte, NC.

Betty loved being outside and was known for her gardening, baking/cooking, hospitality, and always sending cards to everyone she knew for any special occasions that they were celebrating.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bowman Mick, daughter, Kimberly Irene Mick, mother, Helen Elizabeth Hepner, stepfather Charles Hepner, father Lewis Samuel Coover, brother, USAF Major Richard Lewis Coover, and sisters-in law Donna French (Robert), Sue Fehler (Otto).

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Steve Mick of Delaware, Ohio (grandson Conner), and her daughter Pati (Mick) Lash of Jacksonville, FL (husband Tim and granddaughters Celeste and Rebecca) brother Charles Hepner (Margaret) of Idaho, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at A Mighty Fortress Church, 8200 McClure Circle, Charlotte, NC 26216 date and time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, memorials/tributes will be gratefully accepted in Betty’s honor to any of the following organization or the charity of your choice.
