Betty Lou Hite, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 17, 2017. She was the youngest of six children born to Leo and Alma Glab in Etna, PA. After graduating from Allegheny High School, Betty moved to Baltimore, MD, where she worked as a legal transcriptionist. While working as a medical secretary for the Department of Surgery at Johns Hopkins Medical Center, she met her future husband through a mutual friend. Betty often helped as a receptionist in the animal hospital until 2008 when they retired. Betty was totally devoted to her family throughout her life. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, finding estate sale treasures, and restoring antiques. She had a quick wit, an engaging smile, and a great sense of style. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Dr. Stephen C. Hite; her children, Susan White (Quinton) of Jacksonville, Carolyn Gause (Richard) of Gainesville, FL, Stephen Hite, Jr. (Hilda) of Jacksonville, as well as four grandchildren, Quinton White, III.
