Betty June Conklin, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17th, at her home in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on April 12, 1943, in Middletown, NY, to Florence B Barker and William A Dalley Jr. Betty was a graduate of Middletown High School in 1961. Betty married Jimmy Conklin, in 1961 and they shared a daughter, Sharon Conklin (Ferguson) in May of 1963. Betty also had a son in April of 1964, Richard Cordner.
Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother. She truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She shared her cooking and her recipes as a way to bring everyone together and was always the life of the party. She will be remembered for her a strong-will, determination and her ability to take on every challenge that came her way. She was truly a fighter throughout her life.
Betty is survived by her sisters, Gale Kimble-Carroll, Pat Dalley (NY) and Mary Sommella, her daughter, Sharon Ferguson (FL), Nieces, Stephanie Bentley (NY), Heather Dalley (NY), Nephews, Duke Kimble, Mark Kimble, Dominic Sommella, Jerry Sommella, BJ Bentley (NY) and Joseph Dalley, a few Great Nephews and Great Nieces, Grandchildren, Danielle Foran, Alyssa Foran, Kevin Foran, Ashley Cordner (Shiver), and Richard Cordner, her Great-Grandchildren, MJ Tauscher, Kaydence Tauscher, Jacob Tauscher, Kevin Foran Jr, Zaiden Albritton and Carter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Conklin, her brother, Joe A Dalley, her son, Richard Cordner, and her niece, Toniann Caggiano.
A visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
