Bart was born October 13, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Douglas and Maud Alice (Brown) Cheshire. After graduating Granite High School in Salt Lake City, he attended Brigham Young University. He joined the Navy and while stationed in Jacksonville, he met his future wife, Carolyn Lucille Copeland. They were married February 15, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, they moved to Jacksonville. He learned the radiator repair business from his father-in-law J. Henry Copeland. Bart managed and later owned Copeland Radiator Works.
Bart is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life.
He is survived by his children Cynthia Webb (Charles), Lisa Cheshire, Carol Wagner (Steve), Barton C. Cheshire (Amanda) and his granddaughters Rebecca Webb, Rachel Webb, Olivia Cheshire, Sophia Cheshire. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, and his son Brian Copeland Cheshire.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21 from 6-8 pm at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard. The funeral will be Wednesday, August 22 at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5100 Firestone Road. Interment will follow at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park.
