Barry Keith Jordan, 59, Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2013. Barry was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Robert Jordan Jr. and Ruth Eleanor Oppermann Jordan on June 21, 1954. He graduated High School in Waipahu, Hawaii and in 1977 joined the US Navy where he served his country with honor for 21 years. He was one of the first to make Chief Petty Officer after seven years of service. After retiring from military service, he joined Citigroup, Jacksonville, serving in his latest capacity as Vice President/Information Security Engineering Manager. Blessed with quiet strength, a wonderful sense of humor and dedication to each and every task at hand, Barry was a model “Dad” as well as the “best” husband, friend, brother and co-worker you could ever find. He was actively involved in the lives of his family. Especially that of his grandchildren, their school activities, scouts, sports and in helping them with a well-rounded education. Barry was predeceased by both Robert and Ruth, his parents. Barry is survived by and will be forever remembered by his loving wife Nancy, daughter Vonda, Grandchildren Alexis and Tyler, brothers Richard Jordan of New Mexico, Robert Jordan and wife Peggy of New Mexico; Sisters Patty Hall of Michigan; and Suzanne Jordan of Virginia along with countless other family members on both sides of the family, a great number of friends, coworkers and neighbors. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 4:00 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Haradge-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850.St. Johns Bluff Rd N., Jacksonville.
