She was born March 2, 1948 in Royston, Ga. And was the daughter of the late Woodson Lee and Bertie Mae McFarlin.
She is survived by daughters, Erica Bass & Gretchen Sorensen; son-in-law George Bass; granddaughter, Huntir Bass; brothers, Woodson McFarlin Jr & Jarvis McFarlin; sisters-in-law, Lee McFarlin & Joyce McFarlin, plus nephews, nieces and a number of family and friends.
She retired from social work where she dedicated herself to protecting children. She was a mother, grandmother, a nurturer and a protector. She worked hard to provide for her daughters and taught them plus her granddaughter the true meaning of the words fighter & survivor.
Per her request, there will be a private family memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to a charity of your choice that represents a personal memory with Barbara.
