Barbara achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from the University of North Florida. She retired from the State of Florida serving as the Program Operations Administrator at Northeast Florida State Hospital.
She is predeceased by her mother Ruth Helen Mordick, her father John Melvin Hayes, stepfather Ronald Deen Mordick, brother, Samuel Mordick. Surviving family members include her husband Roger Clifford Bowden; brothers John Hayes, Glen Hayes, David Mordick and Ronald Mordick.
