Audrey Grace Cleveland Worsley was born on July 28, 1922 in Guildford, NSW, Australia, and was the daughter of Edna Morris and Robert Worsley. She grew up in Sydney, NSW, Australia, and during World War II met the love of her life, Louis Joseph (Joe) Alexander, a chief bosun's mate in the U.S. Navy. Audrey came to the United States in 1947 to join her husband after the war was over.
Audrey was a loving wife and mother, raising six children. While a Navy wife, she was always involved in some club or activity. She was also active in her church, Christ the King Catholic Church, for many years and was a member of the Kings and Queens and the Catholic Women's Club.
She loved playing cards and bingo, and was a formidable opponent. She enjoyed an active social life well into her later years and maintained a wide circle of friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her brothers Richard Worsley and Harold Worlsey, her son, Louis Joseph Alexander, Jr., her granddaughter, Jennifer Everly, and her best friend, Joan McLoughlin.
She is survived by her children, Janice Alexander, Lynnette Pease, Georgeann Engel (Robert), David Alexander, and Lisa Alexander, brothers Frank Whitehouse, Lyle Whitehouse, and Raymond Whitehouse, eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
We will miss her enthusiasm and love of life.
