Buck was born on August 26, 1948 to parents Chester and Marian Dean of Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Deborah Dean, a retired teacher originally from Kinston, N.C. and Memphis, Tennessee.
Buck attended and graduated from Arizona State University. After a brief stay in the Military, he became a Navigator for one of the largest flight passenger services. After that he returned to Kansas City to join his father’s construction company: The Chester Dean Construction Company.
While in Kansas Buck also served as the Committee Man Ward 4 Precinct 7 that represented Johnson County, Kansas.
Throughout Buck’s life he has been involved with a plethora of hobby related groups, some of which he served at the Board level such as the Norfolk Southern Railroad, The ACL/SAL Historical Societies. He is currently a member of several Plastic Modelers hobby groups which are the International Plastic Modelers Society, Model Creations and the Armor Modeling and Preservation Society.
At the time of his death Buck was an Estimating Executive for Gilbane Building Company in the Federal Division.
Buck was a faithful member of the Southpoint Baptist Church of Jacksonville and also previously attended and served faithfully at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.
The family wishes to thank the Southpoint family as well as Pastor and Kitty Collins, Lynn and Betty Atkinson and Bill and Deb Livingston.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Southpoint Baptist Church, 3335 Tiger Hole Road, Jacksonville, FL 32216. The family will receive guests from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and the service will begin at 11:00 AM. All are invited to attend.
