Arlene Marie Stevens

Arlene Marie Stevens, 85, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 17th at the Earl B. Hadlow Hospice Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to the late James Bruno and Dorothy Bruno Genaro. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Stevens, her stepfather Samuel Genaro, and brother-in-law Steve Lochamy. She is survived by four brothers; Dennis Bruno (Patty), Gary Bruno (Karol), Alan Bruno (MaryAnne), Robert Bruno (Marina), one sister; MaryAnn Lochamy, her two godchildren; Jody Davidoff and Lisa Bruno, along with many nieces and nephews.

Arlene and Bob moved to Jacksonville in the late 80’s to be by family. Arlene was a woman who embraced life with joy and love. She had a zest for things she cherished most. She adored ballroom dancing, gracefully gliding across the floor with an energy that was as contagious as her smile. Shopping and fashion were another of her great loves, as she had a flair for style and always found happiness in finding the perfect outfit.

Above all, she loved her husband, Bob, who treated her like a queen. Together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories. She had a profound love for the beach where she found peace and happiness as it reminded her of her childhood days at the Jersey shore. Her compassion extended beyond people. Arlene was a true animal lover. She opened her heart and home to rescue pets, including Dottie and Frankie, whom she adopted from the animal shelter.

Arlene’s life was a testament to love- love of her family and her passions. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever bring warmth to those who knew her.

A visitation for Arlene will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 5:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
