Fred has joined his mother Marie Louise; his father Anthony Mark; his sisters Mary Louise McGrotha, Patricia Maner and Gloria Elaine Paine; and his brother Henry Caruso in Heaven.
Fred is survived by his oldest son Michael, his wife Barbara and their sons Mark, Jonathan and Timothy. He leaves behind his sisters Mickey Williams (Bob), Carol Grass (Ray), Janet Neighbors (Don), Sharon Louise Caruso and Susan Romano (Tony). He has 8 grandchildren and 47 nieces and nephews.
Fred lived and loved four families. He had his birth family (Caruso), his time with Patricia and son Michael; his life with Barbara and their sons Mark, Johnathan and Timothy. Then there was his working family of IBEW Local #177.
With the marriage of Anthony and Marie, Fred was blessed with being in a family with nine sisters and a brother. During this time he was able to excel in both track and football and receiving awards while attending Baldwin High School. He then served his country as a proud member of the United States Marines where he received Marksmanship accomplishments.
His life’s story changed with Patricia and the birth of his son Michael. During this time Fred joined the IBEW Local #177 and earned his Journeyman’s Electrician Degree. Later, in a new life’s chapter, Fred completed his Construction Site Education and his Job Site Foremanship Program. He is still a member of IBEW Local #177 after 50 plus years.
Life changed again with his marriage to Barbara and the years raising their three sons. Being an electrician, Fred had to travel, hence his favorite song “On the Road Again”. Fred retired at 62 and celebrated many life events during this 24 year chapter. Fred treasured every moment watching his sons participate in track and football. He never missed a single practice or game watching #36 (Mark), #53 (Jonathan) and #61 (Timothy). Fred was blessed to see his sons graduate from high school and college, getting married, and to hold each of his seven grandchildren.
Fred had four families who will cherish his memory and miss him greatly.
Graveside Military Memorial Service will be held 1pm Tuesday November 9, 2021 at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
