When you look back on one’s life it is easy to wonder if you have made a difference in the lives of others. With our mother, there was no doubt. After retirement from McKesson she became a Volunteer at St Lukes/Mayo Hospital for 18 years: the patients and staff missed that caring and speedy dynamo. Active member of the American Business Women’s Assoc and those friendships have lasted forever. She felt blessed to be a member of the Fruit Cove Baptist Church “Unity Class” and appreciates their faithful prayers and kindness.
Being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother was the most important job in her life; Mom always loved and managed to see the best in each of us. She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Charlotte Johnson and Linda Nail (George) of Jacksonville and son Al Johnson (Julie) of Little Rock, AR. Nanny will be missed by her three granddaughters Kelli Collins, Kristin Scroggins (Jimmy) and Taylor Johnson and ten great grandchildren; Kayla and Kenny Collins and the Scroggins children, James, Daniel, Jeremiah, Isaac, Stephen, Anna-Kate, Mary Claire and Caleb. Mom was blessed to have many great girlfriends Helen Toole, “Good-Time Girls” and June Dixon.
A celebration of her life will be held at Hardage-Giddens Chapel, 11801 San Jose Blvd at 5:30 pm, Saturday, April 6, 2013. Arrangements are being handled by Hardage-Giddens 904-288-0025.
