Anna grew up in a Christian home where her family worshiped God and believed in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. She married Oscar Franklin Russell at the age of 16 and they quickly started their family. Oscar and Anna continued to raise their children in a faith-based home that was filled with love. Anna was a stay-at-home mom that poured herself into her church and family in Kansas City, KS. She was very much involved in her church as a Sunday School teacher and seamstress for the church choir and holiday programs.
She began her career with AT&T at the age of 37. Two of her daughters relocated to California in the mid 1970’s. Anna followed her family to the West coast where she lived in the Orange County area until her retirement at the age of 62. While working for AT&T, Anna became a consultant for House of Lloyd’s Christmas Around the World where she worked hard hosting home parties and earning overseas trips. As a result of her efforts, she was able to take each of her daughters with her on trips to visit international destinations. She was very proud of that accomplishment. When Anna retired, she moved back to Olathe, KS where she lived out the remainder of her life. Her door was always open to family whenever they needed her or wanted to visit. She became a resident of Good Samaritan Society in Olathe at the age of 85 where she developed strong relationships with staff members that cared for her. We are thankful for her time with them. We will miss her deeply but we look forward to the day when we will meet her again in Heaven.
